Sugar Crush Bakery came to life after years of being a stay at home mom and running a very successful photography prop business. As my kids grew older and started school I decided to switch gears and try something new. I've always had a love for baking and decorating but didn't realize just how deep my passion was until I discovered Anne Yorks of Flour Box Bakery. I purchased a cookie starter kit from the Flour Box Bakery website and haven't looked back since.

Sugar Crush Bakery is a separate structure located right next to my home on our 2.5 acres of property in Hamilton, MI. The actual building is approximately 320 square feet with a 5x7 bathroom/utility room. It is strictly a commercial kitchen, not a storefront business. It was a very long and exhausting process to build a commercial kitchen on a residential property but with a lot of hard work and perseverance it was accomplished. We were granted a special use permit for a home based business by our township zoning board on March 14th, 2017. Construction officially began in June, 2017 and was completed in January, 2018. Our inspection by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development was completed on February 23, 2018. Sugar Crush Bakery is a fully licensed, inspected and insured commercial kitchen/bakery facility.

I have a very patient and handy husband that along with family and close friends spent many, many long days building the bakery and making my dreams come true.

My husband Dave and I have 3 children, Katie, Karly & David III.
